Course Description
“We’re called civil engineers because we Engineer civilization.” These are the words of Yung Koprowski.
The “Civil Engineer” course for kids is an educational program focusing on the principles and practices of civil engineering. The course aims to teach children about the different materials used in construction, such as concrete and steel, and how they are used to build structures that can withstand natural forces like earthquakes. The course will also cover topics such as hydraulic engineering, which involves using water to generate power and control floods, and skyscrapers, tall buildings designed to maximize the use of limited land. The course will include hands-on activities and interactive projects such as building bridges and dams, designing and building skyscrapers with different materials, and learning about the forces that act on structures during an earthquake. Overall, the course aims to provide children with a fun and engaging way to learn about the science and technology behind civil engineering and how it impacts our daily life.
Course Objectives
- Prospect the initiation of Civil Engineering field.
- Acknowledge the basics of civil engineering and basic skills needed.
- Recognize the other fields that fall under the criteria of Civil engineering.
- Assemble the tools needed for the applications of the topics considered .
